Karoll investment intermediary is launching margin purchases and short sales in a test mode

Investment intermediary Karoll Jsc. has announced the start of tests for margin purchases and short sales on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange through its trading platform – Karoll Broker. The first successful deals for margin purchases and short sales were closed on May 21, 2010.

Karoll has been preparing the service for margin purchases and short sales on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange since the beginning of 2010. After the finishing of the test regime Karoll plans to offer the clients of Karoll Broker – trading platform the possibility to buy on margin and sale on short high liquid stocks traded on the exchange (those are stocks that comply with ordinance 16 on the conditions and procedure for execution of margin purchases, short sales and lending of financial instruments).


In order to start the project Karoll disposes its own money to the customers willing to buy on margin and sale on short. In the near future leading Bulgarian banks will be invited for co-financing of the service.

By the implementation of those new for the stock market services, Karoll aims at higher quality of the investment services. This will reflect on the activity of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange and will set the foundations of a future derivative market.
